Gain new skills, meet awesome people, share your creativity/ideas, and create a more compassionate and consent centered campus! With CHECK IT going into it's third year, We (peer educators, interns, volunteers) play a major role in shaping this project. Through diverse and creative methods, we work to build and maintain an accessible and engaging anti-violence movement on campus, one that reaches every student.
Peer Educator Application Information:
Academic calendar, 10hrs/per week, $10/Hr

Peer Educator Requirements (for both positions):
Have at least one year remaining at HSU.
Be available to attend our paid Fall and Spring Semester Retreat and Staff Training
Have taken Acts to End Sexualized Violence 1 Course or is willing to enroll for the Fall semester
If hired, commit to volunteering 4 hours this semester to see the way the program works in action.
Have a deep understanding of consent, respect within relationships, and embody it within ones personal life and actions.
We are hiring for the following student peer educator positions:
Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator
Graphic Design Coordinator
VOLUNTEER & OUTREACH COORDINATOR: Serve as the main point person for volunteers and for our creative outreach. Network with groups from across campus to build meaningful and collaborative relationships. Some tasks will include, but are not limited to: Organizing and facilitating volunteer drop in hours and work days; Securing volunteers for tabling outreach, events, etc.; Meeting one-on-one w/ interested volunteers and supporting their projects; Updating our volunteer email list and sending out email announcements/updates, as needed; Brainstorming simple and effective outreach strategies for getting the word out about CHECK IT with other staff and volunteers; Posting info about our workshops/events to the different publicity outlets
GRAPHIC DESIGN COORDINATOR: Serve as the main point person for our program’s graphic design needs. Some tasks will inclide but are not limited to: Designing poster campaigns; Creating event and project flyers, posters, information sheets, etc.; Developing creative designs for marketing materials; Utilizing and learning new program and video design software; Working with our Party Resource Coordinator to design custom party and event materials ; Working with our Visual Media Coordinator on joint marketing, photo, and video projects
Internship* Application Information:
*Internships are unpaid. Gain awesome work experience, knowledge/skills, and course credit (2 units)
ART & DESIGN INTERN: Work on projects related to creative art and design. Develop ideas for custom party/event merchandise and marketing materials. Work with our graphic design coordinator on our poster campaigns. Engage in art projects of interest. For example, DIY crafts, comics, stencils, paintings.
